Create a grounding cord

The idea at the heart of this classGrounding

Grounding A seated figure, split light and dark and softly lit, sits on the crest of the earth, drawn as a mound of rounded petals in moss, plum, rose umber and mustard, with a pale flower and a pearl at its center. First a peach cord draws down from the base of the spine to that center. Then pearls of light run down the cord and fade into the center. Then cords are made and undone in turn: red, yellow, blue, brown, a waterfall of six wavy strands, and roots that fork as they go down. Then green streams rise from the earth into a flower at each foot and up the legs. Last, an egg of lilac and pale blue stands behind the figure for the aura, and the center of the head, the aura and the frame of the room each get their own cord to their own point in the earth, while the body's cord and the streams step back. the center of the head the aura the room

5 steps, playing in turn. Choose a number to hold one.

Close your eyes and check in with your body: how you are today and where tension sits.

01:05 to 01:38

Send awareness down into the center of the earth, like an elevator or a tube, then come back up to your body.

01:38 to 03:16

Make an energy line from the base of the spine (first chakra) to the earth's center: a tube, roots, a color or a vibration.

03:16 to 04:15

Release excess energy down it from belly and lower back, upper back and chest, head and shoulders. The earth neutralizes it harmlessly.

04:57 to 06:41

Notice how being grounded feels and whether it seems familiar, then take a deep breath and open your eyes.

One release route can be joined by other target-specific cords. The body's cord The foot channels The earth, with its center Head, aura and room cords The red, yellow, blue and brown cords in step III are source examples. Every other color only tells parts apart; it is not the color a cord, the earth or earth energy should be.

Keep target and direction clear: grounding releases downward; intake channels bring energy in.

Grounding begins with an imagined cord from the base of the spine to the earth's center, used to release excess energy that the earth recycles.

What the first lesson is trying to do

Meditation starts by noticing energy. Thoughts, emotions, memories, relationships, body sensations and other people's moods can all be worked with as energy. Some of it belongs to you. Some of it does not work for you now. Grounding gives that excess energy a simple route out of the body and the space around it.

Treat the practice as new each time. Familiar tools become dull when the body runs them automatically. Begin fresh, whether this is your first grounding cord or your hundredth. The freshness matters because the body, the day and the earth are all changing.

Grounding is not a push. It uses gravity. You create the connection, let energy release, and allow the earth to neutralize what leaves. Then there is more room for your own life force to return later.

From bodily attention to an imagined connection

Start by gathering attention back from other people and things. Close the eyes and check the body. Notice how the body is today, where tension is sitting, and whether awareness is scattered outside you.

Then send awareness down into the earth. Imagine taking an elevator, dropping through a tube, or simply arriving at the earth's center. Notice that the earth has energy too. Seasons change, the planet spins, and the earth's energy is alive rather than fixed.

Return awareness to the body and use the creative part of you. This is the part that dreams, listens, understands meaning and makes images. From that creative energy, make the grounding cord.

  1. Locate the first chakra at the base of the spine.
  2. Create a line of energy from the first chakra to the center of the earth.
  3. Let it be a tube, a root system, a color, a vibration or another image that works.
  4. Notice how the body feels with that connection in place.

The cord is an energy connection. It does not need to look correct. It needs to connect the body to the earth in a way the body can use.

Release, notice and return

Once the grounding cord is set, give it what you are ready to release. Send down the energy of the day: conversations, interactions, thoughts, someone else's energy, feelings or emotions that have been moving through you.

Move through the body simply.

  1. Let nervousness or anxiety in the belly and lower back go down the cord.
  2. Let weight, responsibility or someone else's energy in the chest and upper back go down.
  3. Let pressure in the brain, head, neck and shoulders release too.
  4. Let gravity do the work instead of effort.

The earth neutralizes and recycles the energy. It does not hurt the earth, and it does not hurt anyone else. Even if the energy feels large to you, the earth can handle it.

After releasing, notice the body again. There is a sensation to being grounded. It may feel familiar, simple or unexpectedly different. Check the line from the first chakra to the earth's center, take a deep breath, and open the eyes deliberately. That complete cycle is the first grounding cord.

Practice

The guided practice runs from 00:00:57 to 00:07:48. Do it whole, from the preparation through the return. It uses tools from earlier lessons.

Explicit eyes-open return is present. No gold-sun refill is taught in this first file; do not retrospectively insert the next class’s tool.
