Renew the image and recognize communication

Grounding can be remade throughout the day. Sit with the feet flat, close the eyes, and bring awareness back to the body: feet, legs, torso, arms, hands and face. Then use the creative part of awareness to make a cord from the first chakra to the center of the earth.
Make it, destroy it, and make it again. Add color, image, quality or play until the cord fits the present moment. A yellow cord may work at one time of day, while green, blue or brown works better later. The useful cord is the one that speaks to the body now.
A cord of energy is also communication. Grounding puts the body in communication with the earth. Through that relationship, excess energy has somewhere to go, and the body has a steadier place to be.
First chakra, survival and other people’s burdens
The first chakra is an energy center near the base of the spine, with a slightly higher location sometimes described for women. It is not a physical object or an exact measurement. It sends, receives and spins, and it relates to body health, safety, survival and well-being.
Because it receives survival energy, other people's survival concerns can get mixed into it. Home, work, family, friends and people in crisis can all leave energy in this space. Grounding lets that energy leave without harming them and without harming the earth.
Release does not remove compassion. It means you do not carry someone else's burden in your first chakra. Sometimes that burden was not fully theirs either. Let their survival energy go down the cord and be neutralized.
Then let the first chakra move. When it is grounded well, its spin can become more natural. The grounding holds the chakra in relationship with the earth while the energy center clears.
Move through the body, then adjust
Use the cord through the rest of the body too.
- Release emotions picked up from others, especially in the belly and lower back.
- Release responsibility from the shoulders and chest.
- Release obsessive or foreign thought from the neck, head and face.
- Release aches in the feet and legs.
- Release tension in the arms and hands.
This makes the grounding wider than one point at the base of the spine. The first chakra stays rooted, and the whole body can use that route to clear.
If you feel spacey, adjust the tool. Breathe more. Widen the cord. Change its color, image or texture. Ground the whole body, or ground one place in the body that needs help.
To finish, light up the energy behind nervousness, anxiety or irritation and let it drain. Check the center of the earth, the first chakra, and the connection between them. Then breathe and open the eyes. The point is to run more on your own energy, with less interference from what you have picked up.
